 Paradise of Eden
Vakantie/Zomervakantie | Naturist B & B
|
29 Juni 2009 | 21:41:57
 |
If you don’t like campsites another option in the South of France, is a bed & Breakfast or 'gites' as they call this in France
One which is highly recommended is the Paradise of Eden.
Located about 20 minutes from Grasse and Cannes, it’s a naturist place perfect for people who like to be nude, but don’t have the need to show themselves nude. So if you are a first timer, this is the place to go.
It’s not a full blown naturist place, but they give you the change to be nude if you want to, so perfect if only one of a couple is a naturist.
It's not a standard B & B, as it's more a studio they offer, with 2 bedrooms, a living room with kitchen and a private terace.
The paradise of Eden is located in a small village called Montauroux, this village is as French as you get it; small streets, a jeu de boule court in the middle of the town and cute little houses.
The B & B is located on the hill, just below the village and offers an amazing view on the valley of Montauroux. It’s operated by a young Dutch couple, who run the place with a smile and will help you with everything. In contrary to most places, it’s very clean and the breakfast is superb.
No old French toast with a bit of jam and a cold coffee, but the Full Monty English or Dutch breakfast with every day fresh croissants!
It’s highly recomened for a long weekend or a week long holiday.
There is enough to do in the area, so you won’t get bored.

 Castillon de Provence’
Vakantie | Naturist camping
|
13 Juni 2009 | 09:19:25
 |
France is the best place to go for a naturist camping holiday. All around France you will find a large selection of camping’s. However, the biggest problem with French operated places is cleanliness, so we decided to go to a camping run by a Dutch Couple in Castellane, about 1 hour drive from Grasse in the South of France in the beautiful area of the Gorges du verdon.
The ‘Castillon de Provence’ has new owners since a couple of years and from a rundown naturist camping/junkyard , they transformed it into a clean, fresh and friendly atmosphere camping.
The road to the camping can be a bit tricky with a caravan, but the owners pick up your caravan free of charge with a tractor. The road to the camping is currently (June 2009) under construction, so it should be much better soon.
The camping is run by Annemiek and Justus and they do a great job.
A lot of volunteers are helping out and the result is a very friendly atmosphere. The camping is located at 1080 meters height, which give you a stunning view on the lake of castillon. As a result the evenings are colder, which is quite nice as you don’t sleep in a hot and sticky bed.
In the main season they organize a lot of activities for children and adults.
In contrary to many camping’s, the restaurant, which is run by the Dutch chef Dick, is of very high quality. He sets a fixed menu every day and the taste and presentation is astonishing!
A nice touch is that you eat (dressed) on a long table, so you make easy contact with the other guests, they have separate tables as well, but most people prefer to join the long tables.
We found this excellent camping and for those who don’t like to sleep in a tent of caravan, they have many luxury mobile homes and cottages to rent out.
We’re looking forward to return to this camping again soon.

 Australia, Jajarawong
Vakantie | Naturist resort
|

 |
Jajarawong is located in Central Victoria, about 2 hours drive from Melbourne.
We arrived mid November 2007 with very warm weather, but the next day the weather changed and from walking around nude, we suddenly found ourselves wearing long jeans and sweatshirts!
The campsite is divided in various areas, some are powered sites. They have large cabins for rent and most of them are close to a natural pond. There is no pool as such, but the ponds are quite nice, although it’s not easy with low water level to get out. There is a Jacuzzi and sauna which is great on the colder days. Once a week the owners turn the Jacuzzi on for the guests, if you want it on another day you have to pay a small fee, same for the sauna.
As normal with most nudist places, they have the 5 o’clock sundowner where you bring your own drinks and snacks, but Jajarawong is fully licensed, so you can buy your drinks as well.
A very nice event is that Ron & Sandie make a dinner for a small fee, they announce these happenings in the shower/toilet cabin.
These showers and toilet are the cleanest we have seen, they are made of simple materials, but they serve their purpose well. As in Twin Falls, they have as well a semi open shower, which is fabulous.
We truly enjoyed our stay, just too bad we had a cold weather system coming over which spoiled the nudism part of it.

 Australia, Twin Falls
Vakantie | Naturist resort

Twin Falls Nature Retreat.
From the nudist places we visited in Australia, this was by far our favorite.
It’s the only Nudist Retreat on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales
Ok, the place isn’t easy to find and the dirt road isn’t great, especially with a campervan, you have to drive over a cattle grill, 3 farm lands and cross 3 times a shallow river, but you will be rewarded and we think it's worth the trouble.
They have limited electricity available because it comes from solar power and a couple of hours a day they run the generator.
Our European mobile phone didn’t work, but funny enough, they have free internet available at the main house, which is great to inform your friends you are a little paradise!
The grass campground is surrounded by trees, it’s not quite level, so make sure you have some leveling blocks/stones with you.
The very nice pool is surrounded with a wooden deck around it, with some tables and chairs.
There is one toilet and (solar) shower and one open outside shower (gas heated)
From the campsite you can explore the area, there are various paths you can follow, each one has signs on them with names as Ridge Walk, Forest Walk and the Twin Fall walk.
The Twin fall is a small waterfall, not big enough to take a shower under it, but the walk to it is quite easy and very beautiful. The massive trees and the wildlife are overwhelming.
It not an area intended for people who like action, this is retreat area, to wind down and relax.
Both hosts practice massages, so it’s a perfect relaxation holiday.
Read a book, have a swim, work on your tan, play a bit of volleyball (net is available on the campsite) and enjoy the 5 o’clock sundowner with the hosts in the main house.
They have bed & Breakfast accommodation available in case you don’t have a camper or tent.
One thing you have to do, is wake up early in the morning and go for an outside shower: the mist is still hanging in the trees, the first birds are awaking, some small wallabies are hopping around and the steam from the hot water surrounds and you will feel like you’re in heaven!

 Australia, Elephant Rock
Vakantie | Naturist resort
|
05 Januari 2008 | 10:02:02
 |
Elephant Rock naturist retreat is about 2 hours drive South of Brisbane.
The road is easy to drive and the place is easy to find.
It’s a nudist camping with good facilities and the toilet & shower facilities are kept clean
They have a large room for all guests with a TV, fire place cooking facilities, fridges, DVD’s & books to borrow.
The campgrounds are spread out on different levels, all close to the amenities.
They have an above ground swimming pool with decking build all around it, there is a Jacuzzi, but when we where there it wasn’t working because of a broken pump.
The owners are nice and helpful, every 5 PM they have a ‘happy hour’, where the guests bring their own drinks and can meet up at the terrace.
There are wild (but shy) kangaroo’s hopping around in the area, they ‘build’ a path through the forest which is easy to follow. The owners marked the path and gave it names like ‘love seat’ and ‘baby elephant walk’ It is a nudist retreat so you can walk the outback in the nude if you want, but we recommend to put some clothes on, as the insects can be a pain.
Quite nice for the work addicts is that there is internet available (WiFi and a computer)
Mobile telephone connection is only when you would walk up the ‘love seat’, which is a 15 minutes’ walk through the bush. Off course you don’t need it, but sometimes it’s nice to be in contact with the rest of the world…

 Australia in general
Vakantie | Naturist resort
|
05 Januari 2008 | 09:39:38
 |
We have traveled around Australia for a month from Brisbane to Melbourne and we have to say that the general standard of nudist camping places is less as we have found in Europe.
Cleanliness and cleaning up is clearly less important for the Aussies, almost every place we went you see an corner with old useless items rusting away.
It is as well quite common that rainwater is used for flushing toilets. In some places they use it as well as water for showers and in swimming pools
The reason behind this is clear; the draught in a lot of places is extreme and they have to find a way to provide water.
We find that the water may have a funny taste and color, but it is acceptable, we did boil the water before drinking it.
Most of the nudist places are a fair drive away from the main roads, be aware that a lot of car and campervan rental company’s don’t allow you to go further than 500 meters of a tarmac road, so read your contract in advanced.
Because of this we decided to skip ‘River Island ‘, as the drive is not recommended with a campervan.
Their webmaster must be trying to win the price of the worst website ever, but we’ve heard all good stories about the place itself.
Throughout Australia we had problems with flies, so make sure you have flies & insect repellent with you, we even bought a mosquito net hat for when we went walking in the bush.
Going for a bush walk well protected! |

 Rhodes, Faliraki beach
Vakantie | Naturist beach
|
30 Oktober 2007 | 22:18:39
 |
The Faliraki beach is one of the very few nudist beaches which are well organized, it is the only official nudist beach on the island of Rhodes.
There are freshwater showers, sunbeds, umbrella's and a restaurant.
The beach itself is partly sandy, partly rocky, so do use the sunbeds (about 5 euro's)
The water is very clear and great to swim in.
Because of the pebbles and rocks it's advised to use some shoes if you go into the sea or walk on the beach
To reach to the beach you need a scooter or a car, as it is quite a distance from the nearest town.
From Rhodes downtown it's about 40 minutes with a scooter.
The restaurant's food is basic and reasonable cheap, they have some nice local dishes and cold drinks!
Because of the distance to the public beach you don't have people just 'accidently' walking onto the beach.
The nudists who visit it seems to come every day to the beach, as it is a good mix between a normal holiday and a nudist holiday.

 Gran Canaria, Magnolias Natura
Vakantie | Naturist resort
|
29 Oktober 2007 | 21:13:22
 |
Magnolias Natura is in contrary to most other nudist resorts located in the middle of ‘normal’ resorts.
It was originally build as Magnolias golf, as it’s pretty much in the middle of a golf field (full privacy though).
It’s a small resort with 28 bungalows, 2 under one roof style.
The one bedroom bungalows are equipped with a TV, radio, small living room and open kitchen. They all have a small terrace with a chairs and table.
The restaurant and bar are very nicely decorated and the food is of superb quality. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner
The service is quick and with a smile, all crew are friendly and helpful if you need any information.
On walking distance there are other restaurants and a shopping area is 10 minutes away.
The famous dessert like nudist beach is about half an hour walk, or you take the bus or taxi.
We have been there once, but got sandblasted and as a couple we had a lot of single men bothering us, which is very annoying, especially as they start jerking off, while we were only sunbathing!
We didn’t really have to leave the resort, as there is a great pool, but we had to visit the beach at least once.
The whole resort is well maintained and everything is kept spotless clean.
There are not many facilities, besides the pool there is an inside lounging area with a small library, a mini supermarket and a table tennis. They do organise a nude sailing trip which is great fun and a perfect way to meet the other guests as well
The atmosphere is great and we just loved the place, we stayed 14 days in the resort and enjoyed every minute of it.
We highly recommend it.

 St Martin, Club Orient
Vakantie | Naturist resort
|
28 Oktober 2007 | 21:50:05
 |
|
Club Orient is located in St Martin, one of the Dutch Antilles islands in the Caribbean.
The large clothing optional resort is well maintained and the accommodation is very nice and clean.
The facilities are a small gym, tennis court, beach volleyball court, massage centre, a small but well stocked supermarket, launderette and various water sport toys.
There is a bar at the beach front, which unfortunately closes around sunset The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.
Inside the restaurant there is a bar, but it’s hardly used as it is not the kind of bar you like to hang out.
Not that something is wrong; it just doesn’t have a ‘personality’.
The restaurant needs an interior designer, but the service is great, the food is ok.
We stayed 9 days at the resort and it would be nice if they would have daily specials.
We rented a garden chalet which is pretty much in the middle of the resort.
It is a great chalet with a lot of space and it looks rather new. Besides the bedroom with A/C, it has got shower with toilet and a large living room with and dining table and open kitchen.
There is a terrace in the front and back of the chalet with an outside shower.
In general we loved the resort, it’s clean and the service is friendly.
The facilities are all you need.
There is no swimming pool but the beach and sea is a stone throw away from pretty much all chalets.
At day time you can shop, drink and eat at the places along the beach, but at night time, it’s all closed.
If you want to go to another restaurant you can walk over the beach to a small village close by or just rent a car through the reception and visit the area.
We had a great time and really enjoyed the resort.
Most visitors are American, a lot of them come back each year around the same time, to meet up with people they have met before and became friends.
